Looking at my signed copy of “Diet” and feeling the profound influence that John had on us all, and the culture. I assigned my Environmental Law class to see John’s presentation at Northern Arizona University over 25 years ago, and it was my great pleasure to serve as a guide on one of John & Ocean’s river trips on the Klamath. He was ~ and remains ~ a luminous avatar and beacon for the health of humanity and the planet. As he wrote in my book, “May all be fed, may all be healed, may all be loved.” Go in Love, Beauty & Resonance, John; and heartfelt condolences to Ocean and the family ~ ~ ~

A Diet for a new America was a Bible for me which I distributed to over a 100 people and also heard John on YouTube on his life’s journey staying in the wilds and leading a full happy life with his wife. May his soul rest in peace.

My personal example is just one among millions. John Robbins changed my life. Not only did he change my life, he was a catalyst in changing the core “raison d’être” of my life. My core mission, my reason for being is deeply connected to what John taught me. I am only realizing now that in the ’90’s when I read his book, that it would slowly but surely grow like the 100 year old mango trees in my garden. Every season, those trees give more mangos, nourish more people and animals (birds mostly), cause more joy in the eating of them.
After reading Diet for a New America and taking it deep into my heart, I started eating differently. Slowly and gradually, I added more plant based meals into my routine. It took a few years but today, I’ve been fully plant based for 15 – 20 years. I am happy to say that every meal has made a difference to animals and to our planet. In my own small way, I have helped many people to heal their bodies through healthy eating after I did the same for myself. I am incredibly healthy now and people are continually surprised to learn how old I am. These are the seeds that John planted in me. My whole direction and purpose in life changed because of John. I spent years, studying deeply and learning, and sharing what I learned about how nutrition heals us.
Even more important than any of the above was the love and goodness he shared when he spoke to us. His lovingness was as powerful as anything I have ever experienced and I never met the man. I give thanks that John was born and for all that he did and for all that he gave us. He was and is a massive hero.

Many, many hearts go out to you as you grieve the loss of this incredible person. I was introduced to the Food Revolution Network at the last summit and am already seeing great changes in my health and life. John worked for many years so that I could just walk into the FRN and start. I am so grateful for John’s love, passion, inspiration and work to bring his experience and understanding to the world. Thank you to you who go forward with it. He changed the world. You are changing the world. Love and blessings to you who remain on this earth. May his warmth and love sustain you in these days.
