IEaster Seals Goodwill Industries (ESGI) is a community-based, multi-service agency, whose mission is to enhance employment, educational, social and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and other challenges. Established in 1969, ESGI is a non-profit organization, headquarted in New Haven, Connecticut. ESGI is an affliliate agency of Easter Seals National and Goodwill Industries International, one of only seven associated with both organizations nationwide. ESGI’s current services include workforce development services, senior day services for individuals with disabilities, community re-entry supports for ex-offenders, recreational and blended services for working adults with developmental disabilities, and positive youth development services for New Haven school children and their families. Currently, the agency serves over 1,400 Connecticut residents. ESGI clients are adults with developmental, mental health and physical disabilities, low-income children and families, and adults and youth ex-offenders. ESGI operates twelve Goodwill Stores in Middlesex and New Haven counties. Surplus revenue from these stores is leveraged with other resources to ensure the long-term sustainability of the agency’s community programs and the launching of new services benefitting Connecticut’s most vulnerable residents.

  Working with Monique and the Youth as Leaders program is spectacular. The students are energetic in a good way - they were excited to play drums. I had fun and was laughing, so I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves as well. I anticipate enjoying my next drum circle with the Family Learning Center.
